OUR HISTORY
The notion for creating the Longmont Community Foundation began in 1988 and was formalized in 1994.
Generous donors, hardworking volunteers and visionary grantees have all contributed to our success. Now in our 15th year, the Longmont Community Foundation, an affiliate of The Denver Foundation, strives to improve life in the St. Vrain Valley.
Since its inception, The Longmont Community Foundation has awarded over $2.3 million in grants to nonprofit organizations that serve residents of Longmont.
STAFF
2 employees work daily to handle the needs of grantees and donors. Additional support is provided by The Denver Foundation’s 35 employees who serve as a resource to The Longmont Community Foundation and its donors.

More than 50 individuals donate their time and expertise by serving on the Board of Trustees and/or Advisory Committees
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
The Longmont Community Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and managed by a paid professional staff. The Foundation’s administrative expenses in 2008 were less than 1% of the Community Endowment Fund.
The Longmont Community Foundation’s funds via The Denver Foundation are invested in a variety of investment vehicles including those available only to foundations such as The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF). Approximately 45% of our funds are invested in stock, 35% are invested in bonds and 20% are in cash and other instruments. A seven-member Investment Committee oversees The Denver Foundation’s investment strategy. Monticello Associates is our investment advisor.
